Welcome to the e3i CETL homepage
In 2005 HEFCE named Sheffield Hallam University a national Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in Embedding, Enhancing and Integrating Employability (E3I). The CETL aims to support and fund a range of projects in the university which are dedicated to contributing to the employability of its students. One on the ways the CETL embeds employability is through the Employability Framework.
Support to do this comes from a number of associates and also from a number of Special Interest Groups which form a crucial link between the E3I CETL and the numerous other drivers of employability at Sheffield Hallam.
Amongst other things, the work of the CETL focuses on:
- Enhancement of multidisciplinary and business orientated simulations
- Production of bespoke Career Management Skills materials for courses
- Providing guidance and advice through the validation process in terms of employability
- Promoting the use of e-learning and Blackboard
As the CETL continues to grow over the next five years, its presence and influence is set to increase significantly. It will form a successful and sustainable working unit as well as having a positive impact on Sheffield Hallam University staff and students.
What do we mean by employability?
"To be employed is to be at risk, to be employable is to be secure" - Peter Hawkins, The Art of Building Windmills
"Enabling students to acquire the knowldege, personal and professional skills and encourage the attitudes that will support their future development and employment " - Sheffield Hallam University
